A Gift of Words

The Gift of the Last Human Step

The gift of the last human freedom is the next step.

A journey begins and ends with the next step. It is a freedom that once a decision is made we have the power to execute. With the first step, a fire ignites in us, motivating us to move forward into action.

No one can take the freedom-step away from us. It is a power we all possess from God for better or for worse. We can go down the garden path or to hell, our freedom-step is ours alone to make.

Inaction is the worst.

Good and bad dreams need a first step to begin.

If you are a good person, you can always back-step and no one will be the wiser. Good intentions always are seen but rarely acknowledged. Who cares about public acknowledgement?

If you are a nasty person, your first step is a step of no-return. You will be remembered for eons. The path you choose will follow you in the public’s eye forever.

Trailblazers had to take a first step. A conscious effort knowing the consequences could be fatal.

There is no such thing as failure if you take another step.

Failure to act is a loss of freedom. You don’t want to be handcuffed in your mind, tethered to fears.

A step doesn’t have to be physical. The next step can be a decision. Stephen Hawking was famous for always taking the next step. He appeared in The Simpsons, The Big Bang Theory, and Star Trek: The Next Generation etc… Let’s not get started on his penmanship: A Brief History of Time. His steps were one giant leap into the universe.

We hesitate; our mind urges us to, just in case. What if we fail on the second step, the tenth step, or just before we complete our quest? If you take the last human step of freedom away from us, we will be imprisoned in our minds.

It is our human right. Make sure it’s a step in the right direction suitable to you.

I will leave you with this: Your journey begins at home in your mind. It is there that thoughts are imprisoned.

The last human step is freedom.
