A Gift of Words
The Gift of Self
Our body is a temple unto itself.
We are given the gift of our bodies by God with our minds and a sense of self, to rule over as we see fit. The bodies are just our domain for our self-awareness, a vessel really, where our mind lives. If we take care of ourselves, we can live a long time in our bodies before we have to vacate them for other pastures.
Our body is the tool that our mind uses to accomplish tasks to better the world spiritually, physically and honorably.
The gift of self means that we are aware of our existence and can make decisions for ourselves, like do we want to be happy or sad? Do we want to pollute ourselves, or nurture and tend our bodily garden for years to come so we can give our essence to the earth as intended, and so on.
Our minds are what govern our body, so that in kind, our body can perform well for our mind in whatever our minds decide.
Every person’s most primal task, must be principled, and used as a source of attainment, for authentic self-giving so the self can achieve.
With this gift of self comes a responsibility to not only our own body temples but for the preservation of everything on this earth, so that our great Garden of Eden (Earth) can flourish for future purpose.
We are the caretakers of generations before us, and when we hand off to the next generation, it is not he / she who have the most toys that win, but how we have handled our lives leaving
it is in better shape than how we found it with greater knowledge.
Our individual body is the house of one of God's temples. We mow the lawn and trim the hedges (Cut our Hairs). We renovate our houses when they need upgrading. (Transplants) We upgrade our electronics (We go to school). We need to keep our temples in shape.
We have to preserve the temple so our sense of self can make decisions for the betterment of our self, planet, and future temples where senses of self will be housed.
We can do what we want with the time we inhabit our bodies, by being more self-aware of being and informing ourselves on the meaning of existence. To just exist and amass consumables doesn’t cut it. We have to leave behind a positive essence of ourselves so that other people can draw upon that essence and continue the drive of a better existence of future life.
The beauty of the gift of self is that we are all individuals with personalities that are different but, in many ways, like-minded. Sameness, but not totally the same. For instance, I think the reason there are different races of humans is really to help us individualize our sense of self and grow through one another experiences thus sharing knowledge, growing our horizons so that we can evolve.
If we put borders up, we limit ourselves. We are becoming more fenced-in as a society physically, but ironically, we have an internet with few borders. It’s crazy we can all live together happily without borders in cyberspace. Maybe this is the stepping stone, the future.
A funny thing that God did when he made us was to give us the gift of different colored flesh and culture diversity in his infinite wisdom. He never intended racism. Strip all the flesh off our bodies from all the races of humans on earth and put the skeleton remains side by side. I “BET” no one can tell which skeleton belongs to which race.
Shame on us.
