A Gift of Words

The Gift of Love

“How do I Love thee” The greatest poetic words ever written. Endless meanings are in those 5 words. I bet you cannot count the ways. I tried and lost count.

In fact, if you put the word Love in 99% of sentences, the word Love evokes an emotion in most of us, and when said, we actually pay more attention when that word is involved.

In Canada did you know that Beavers, one of our national symbols actually mate for life! “Till death do us part.” When Beavers slap their tails they are telling their mate “I Love you.”

In fact, in Australia when I was there recently, I came across road kills of Shingleback Skinks. They mate for life as well. Imagine their matey waiting for them at home to never return. It's so sad.

Each country has a representative of an animal that mates in Love for life. Another of God’s gifts, as if to demonstrate to human kind that Love is all powerful and should never be taken for granted. We should take lessons.

Love is a pure emotion that vibrates throughout the animal kingdom. It is an emotion that can also start wars, and cure diseases. Love hurts.

Oh ya. There’s that famous man-made “seven-year itch” syndrome, where you think Love has left you so then you go to look for it elsewhere.

“What the world needs now, is Love, sweet Love” Words to live by: Hal David. It seems that one area we are lacking in today’s world is more love. Two steps forward one step back.

But Love does conquer all.

We are born with Love in our hearts, Love in our souls, in fact Love is all around us. It’s so close that we sometimes can’t see Love past our nose, for there are those of us who Love ourselves more than anything else.

We actually bump into Love on a daily basis, we have children, spouses, animals, friends, colleagues, I could go on and tell you that Love is all around, that everyone and everything exudes Love, but we are too busy to take notice, for we are in an information age of technologies that bury our heads downward to a 3.5 inch screen as a tether, and miss all the Love around us wanting to be grabbed as just one example.

Children need to hear the word “Love” time and time again, to be reinforced into their mind sets so that they can express their Love outwards in a natural way.

We say we Love, but do we really Love? Demonstrating Love means going out of our way to make a person feel special, with actionable efforts. There are many facets of Love that get mixed up with true Love. We tend to use the word Love a lot, so it becomes just speech with no feeling behind it. Love does not need words but demonstration.

Love can also be a silent healer through compassion, and giving.

Demonstrations of Love give power behind the word, or Love is like an empty threat that is not backed up with feelings.

Last but not least is God’s Love, he the all-powerful, he who Loves you unconditionally, transcends Love in all his teachings.

By the way you were just Loved thirty-seven times.
