A Gift of Words
Gift of Wisdom
Wisdom in itself is not a given gift. We are not born with it; we have to earn wisdom, through trial and error. When we make mistakes, we gain wisdom. We have the inherent ability to gain wisdom later on in life through our experiences and through teachings from others.
Wisdom should be passed on in little increments, small gulps of wisdom allows one to savor the acquired. It must be fed slowly so one can evolve and use the knowledge of wisdom wisely so more wisdom can be gleaned.
Our wisdom teeth come in only usually when we are adults. We as well gain wisdom when we are older. A third set of molars really, was God being wise, because there were no real dentists in those days, just lost teeth, so the third set of molars allowed people to continue to chew to a later age.
Did you know that elephants have no real chronicled lifespan, but that their lives depend on their teeth? They grow 6 sets of teeth, and when the last teeth go, so do they.
There is wisdom in our bodies, we have 2 kidneys, two lungs, 2 ears, 2 eyes, and we only need one to survive. The other is an enhancement but also a spare just in case one fails. We have more of the twos.
The wise man up above has thought of everything.
As a thinking species, we rely on the wisdom of the ages, to guide us through our lives. Evolution uses wisdom to help creatures survive, by giving them the ability to camouflage, poison, fight back, armor themselves. Plant species as well have weapons at their disposal, such as thorns, resins, leaves. They also have symbiotic relationships with animals and have developed wise strategies to help each other survive.
The lasting path to contentment is through wisdom. There are many ways to gain wisdom, like going out and making errors just to see the results. From the error-ed results, you gain information about what not to do.
The other ways to acquire wisdom are endless: Listen, don’t speak, thoughtfulness, reflection, ethics, detachment, using God gifted abilities, etc..
You are wise if you know the difference, and wise if you hedge your bets. You are wise if you are proactive and wise if you bank away favors, and wise if you promote friendship in your life. You are wise if you realize you cannot do it alone, and wise if you offer support.
It is wise to be wise.
The end result of accumulated wisdom is authentic happiness.
A wise boy would say, “When you die, Grampy, I don't want your money. Please leave me your memories.”
Wizened people don’t think conventionally, but think out of the box.
How do you get wisdom? It has to be practiced. So, to practice, do the following:
Learn from your mistakes, think before you act, be humble, practice common sense, give a hoot, learn from others etc..
However, wisdom is also knowing when to stop.
Wisdom comes from truth. Words of wisdom are always heard. So, what are some words of wisdom?
Check it out:
"If at first you don’t succeed, tarantula eating is not for you."
So! Are you a bug or a windshield? Buggy people get things done, going about their business, flying into situations, adapting, trying other angles in order to accomplish goals. Meaning they are using the “Try-Angle approach.” If you are a windshield person then you stop at the first possible point of resistance thus eliminating any chance of wisdom through the Try-Angle approach and Boom!!
Bob’s your Uncle!
You know a wise man once said to me that 15% of life is what happens to you and the other 85% is how you react to it.
Wisdom comes from our actions or inactions. Both. We always try to follow the path of least resistance, it’s in our human nature, so why not eh?
A wise woman will tell you that a crooked road is packed with wisdom. I know that my wife packs me a wisdom lunch every day. Don’t forget… Remember...bla... bla... bla.... But look, I'm married 41 years. “Married with Children“Lol.
Someone who shall not be named is wisdom challenged, so here is a piece of wisdom for he who goes unnamed. “Always tell the truth, and then you don’t have to remember anything.
I always like to peel down the layers of life, in order to get to the crux, rather than arrive at a solution immediately. Peeling an onion slowly might lead you to crying, but the knowledge gained is priceless. Don’t worry about crying though, it clears out your tear ducts, so it has a benefit as well.
Positivism, attitude, is all about gleamed wisdom, because the alternative could be doom. Check out the fly on the wind shield above, he was stopped in his tracks, because he lacked wisdom.
