A Gift of Words

Gift of Time

Time for everything is finite. Everything ends in time, which so far, has not been disproved.

So, what does that mean for you and me? It means use it or lose it; we know that since you cannot get time back, haste, not waste, should make all the difference.

Time is weirdly intangible, not touchable, see-able, hearable, taste-able, feel-able, but is a perception that guides us through life, such as using time for daylight savings, rolling the clock back. We roll the clock back an hour, but does age fall back too?

We lose time every minute, second, hour, or day. Once lost, time can never be regained. We cannot bank it, store it, cash it in, use it again, but we can use time wisely. We can do things in a timely manner, or waste time on trivial matters, we have a choice in how we value time.

How do we know that we are running out of time? Someone told us that’s why, and put a time limit on us to accomplish this and that.

For me, time is of the essence, I have to get going, time is running out. Isn’t it funny that we only realize we are running out of time when we are in a hurry.

The giving of your time is one of your greatest gifts, for we are then sacrificing our time and donating it to someone whom we feel is deserving of our extra time. We can take time off our own pursuits and use that time for others. Unfortunately, because the perception of time is not very tangible, people look at a donation of time as trivial, that giving of oneself is just a matter of time, and not worthy in the same light as money or things.

If we are seriously ill, we look at time in a different way saying, “If only I had more time I woulda….” So, if you get better, think back to the “I woulda…” conversation you had with yourself and do something about it.

Simplify your life to create more time, spend more time on your health, less on wealth, finish things that were left hanging, pursue your bucket list. \

You cannot claw back time, but you can surely streamline your time in such a way that using your time will be meaningful.

Your life is made of finite time, given as a gift, to use or abuse as you see fit.

The best Christmas gift in the world is the gift of time. It trumps everything else. Meaningful times with grandparents, friends, exes (lol), family, is really what will be remembered and not the purchase of a gift but the interaction of selfless love.

Selfless love is from the heart, with no personal gain, so no returned expectations, just love. Love with heart with no hidden agenda.
